What I meant by my comment was the implications of the study affect the entire denomination.

Hey Ro I take exception to that! I am a Lutheran Pastor and I happen to take very seriously the word of God. The Lutheran tradition is built on God’s word. For centuries Lutheran Theologians and pastors have sought to draw people closer to the heart of God and into deeper relationship with him through examining his word and making it accessible and understandable through teaching, translation, and discipleship. It does break my heart that there are those who would seek to undermine not just the Lutheran church but the full body of Christ with wishy-washy theology and sentimentalism. However we know that the Gates of Hell will not succeed in such a venture and there are many many Lutheran leaders and Scholars who denounce such heresies. Don’t be generalizing when you so obviously know very little about what you are talking about.

Ah, let's see what their study says . . . maybe they'll have some good ideas like that anglican diocese in California. I like that bishop, he likes to rile feathers and is laying down the smack as he does it. Hope the lutherans carry a little hope and grace into their study!

I'm about ready to abandon my adopted denomination. The only thing flakier than their delicious Germanic pastries is their theology and understanding of secular science. They sure look sharp in those clerical collars though.
