    Yeah, the difference in maturity and understanding in a 12 or 13 year old is significant enough to make sex either consensual or not. And between a 15 year old and 30 year old?? Bring out the billy clubs, thats what I say. Maybe the Chief should be asked if this rule applies to the exploitation of his own children as well?? Probably not . . .

    Make not that in Canada if you support the Liberal government you support child sex. Plain and clear. So many times the Conservatives have tried to increase the age of consent to 16 from 14 and each time the BQ and the Liberals have voted against it. It's about values, so the Liberals say, they don't have the right to stop a 15 and 14 year old from engaging in sex even if it comes at the cost of exploitation and child prostitution of 14 year olds. Cabinet ministers are on record as being staunchly opposed to lowering the age... so sad. Oh what have we come to.

    Although the liberals do support a lower consent age, this is not an important issue to Canadians. This tells more about Canadians than it does about politics. I know the article is about the UK, but hey, everyone is slipping in their duty to protect KIDS. If you're 14 you're still a kid no doubt.

    This is foreseeable. In a society where there are likely a great deal more pediphiles than homosexuals if you allow one the other is not far off. Poligamy is another related issue. I've had enough 'new-ager' conversations to know that it has already entered our society. The thing with pediphiles, in my not-opinion, is that they are only doing what is 'natural' and there is 'no harm done' to the children. It is just an act of 'love' between two people of different ages......

    I say the death penalty should be applied to pedophiles, murderers, rapists and kidnappers, but most people ive spoken to seem to think i´m some sort of barbarian. If standing up for whats right makes me a barbarian, or redneck, or a backwards hillbilly from the west, then thats okay. besides if punishment was much harsher on crimes, less people would be inclined to commit them.
