Not that I know a whole lot of anything about the U.N., but the general attitude of the article sets my spidey-senses a-tingling;

Kathryn, please note that neither hyphen is correct, as the noun comes before each advber/adjective.

They're there, under the sand and all. The fact top US advisor's said to Bush right after 9/11, 'we need to use this as our reason to attack Iraq,' pretty much shows how far the 'evidence' extended.

The UN is not nearly as ineffective in controlling the violence from Islamic fundamentalists as it is in curbing the violent tendencies originating from its most militant member, the US. Weapons of mass destruction anyone?

The UN is proving less and less useful in controlling violence, especially that of Islamic origin in Africa and the Middle East.

Am I the only one that sees the writer of that article as being a little bit on the angry side? Not that I blame him for being frustrated (and angry). After all, anything as vague as blamming "...'occupation' for provoking the fear and suspicion that has led to terrorism". Way to beat around the bushes. But what would happen if the U.N. admitted that yes, there is state-sponsored terrorism and yes, we are in danger? Would everything fall apart? After all, when the ignorant masses are suddenly aware that they are in danger, who knows what they will do? And isn't it just typical that all the world's problems are blamed on the West (not without reason, of course...) Not that I know a whole lot of anything about the U.N., but the general attitude of the article sets my spidey-senses a-tingling; a call for a world-encompassing organization with TEETH and CLAWS - hold the muzzle. It makes me wonder exactly when all the stuff in Revelation is going to come and slap us in the face (not that it hasn't started already, but you know).
