Militants Drag Christian Into Mosque to Beat Him to Death
Apparently there is the new fad in Islam for Ethiopians, grab anybody who isn't Muslim and beat them to death in your holy place. This is of course an extreme version of fanatical Islam but you'll never once here any other Muslim body anywhere in the world decry what occurs in militant African nations.
I am a bit surprised it occurred in Ethiopia since it has the biggest army in Northern Africa and has many Christian leaders and groups.

I am the Sweeede! Recall the Veggie Tales episode? Well it appears a new way to present the OT text is picking up steam in Sweden. A risque magazine style Bible edition has been released with alarming success.
Sexy Bible in Sweden
When this magazine (literally a magazine version of the OT texts) starts selling around 1/2 of total Bible sales, we should take notice. It makes sense that someone would want to take the text and present it into a form that speaks to a particular audience. Of course, the topless man on the beach is not for everyone.

Riff Raff Welcomed at Pomotheo!
It appears the problems over in the States with conservative Anglicans and their liberal counterparts (the leader of the Anglicans is a far far far left liberal) is heating up. (BTW, Anglicans in the states are called Episcopalians in case you were wondering.)
Let's face it, we don't know the particulars behind why he was booted. Obviously he doesn't enjoy marrying same-sex couples (which the bishop loves to do). I think it's funny that left-wing Episcopals use the bishop's middle name 'Jefferts' instead of Katharine as if it makes her more manly....

Clearly this new building project is for undergraduates only. I've seen nothing but an endless supply of rhetoric and promo for the undergraduate schools and zero, nothing, nadda, for the graduate program. The Alliance is so out to lunch about their graduate program it makes me giggle. They are loosing donor dollars because they fail to connect with their graduate alumni's. I mean, what CTS grad knows about AUC-NUC? That's a new creation.
By the way, this is the video that I was asked to participate in but was told last minute not to come because I was asking too many questions. I essentially told the video people that it was pointless to ask me questions about the history of the Alliance when I'm not an Alliance member. I guess the woman dealing with me thought it was too much when I asked her to send me the answer to her historical questions.
You really have to wonder who runs these things.... When Calgary Alliance churches have zero, and I mean zero, idea that their own school is in town, you have to wonder what's going on.
BTW, there are two seminarians in the video, but they are speaking for AUC, which is sad since one of them was the most articulate in the entire commercial. The other was present in the video for a grand total of .23 seconds. haha, I'm glad I was booted
Anyways, please do give, cause the campus is going to be 'wicked cool for my development in Jesus'. Too bad I wont be around to see it.

I want to do a Canadian Theological Seminary Video that's way cooler and has expletive deleteds. You'll also note me bored in this vid somewhere around half way point for a total video time of .56 seconds.

'God Sex' Leads to TV Boycott
Some clown of a female comedian named Sarah Silverman has a sketch on Comedy network about having 'sex with a black-God'. Pretty stupid yes, don't get me wrong, she's has no integrity, but the response by Christians is ironically funny in its own right.
Let's get something straight, you're going to boycott Viacom? Uh huh, so I bet you hippies don't have TVs at all either right? Fact of the matter is, you can't boycott Viacom. Well actually, you can, but that means throwing your TV away. How many Christians out there don't support the programming on their cable TV....Do you cancel your TV and cable? HECK NO, so why would you get so angry about the programming?
Vote with your feet, don't watch bad shows, eventually nobody will watch and sponsor money will dwindle. That or have a TV bashing party in your church parking lot.

Check your Bible - It's Not There
You want to know what the biggest inferred idea conservative Christians have?
Let me help you, the dialogue goes like this, "buddy, just say the prayer and your IN!".
What's worse than intolerant Christians? Answer: Christians who try to evangelize with this blanket prayer of nothingness. Please folks, don't give people this incorrect impression of Christianity. Could it be that all it takes is a prayer to 'get on the boat'? Perhaps, but wow, it's so much more than that.
I don't want to come out and say the sinner's prayer is nothing but a scam cause so many will question whether they are a believer. But hey, if you have to think that hard about maybe you need to do more living than thinking....

Careful, pastors, the world is watching
If you're pastor hold 5.5 million dollars in estate off your back then you can guarantee a) he will be judged severely, b) your church has no idea how to help the poor, c) you don't do mission work ($500 a year?!), d) you should find another church. It appears some from the Prayer Palace in Toronto are getting duped.

Yancey's Trip to Calgary Cancelled?
Philip Yancey was supposed to attend a Thursday meeting at Bow Valley Christian Church but the event was canceled. Rumours have it Mr. Yancey was in some form of accident. More details to follow.
Quite frankly, it may have been a blessing in disguise as many people have remarked that Bow Valley's planning for the event was less than stellar and their PR (office) people were both unhelpful and rude--almost acting as if they were sorry they had made the news of Yancey's arrival public.
Mod Edit:Link to the Yancey web site. It turns out he broke his back in a bad car accident. Apparently going 65 mph on snow is safe Luckily some mormon's (why can't we just call them regular people?) pulled over to help.
