You know what I hate about overzealous Christians? They're insistence of impressing their stupidity and laziness on parents who choose to let their kids watch whatever they want.
Senators and pro-family activists to limit TV violence.
This just in, vote with your feet. If people stop watching violence and craving it, they'll stop putting on TV.
P.S. You can control what your kids watch, not everybody falls under the category of 'lazy parents'.

Genocide on the Horizon?
What happens when you put 1.2 million fundamentalist Muslims in the same room as 3000 Christians? Tea parties? Enthralling dialogue? How about extermination?
If you're a Christian living in the Gaza Strip your days are numbered. Ah well, North Americans are so far away we can't hear their cries--now where the keys to my SUV?

I Kid You Not: The Ten Commandments of Driving
I. You shall not kill.
II. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.
III. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.
IV. Be charitable and help your neighbour in need, especially victims of accidents.
V. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.
VI. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.
VII. Support the families of accident victims.
VIII. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.
IX. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.
X. Feel responsible towards others.
Thank God the Vatican took the time out to release this one. I've just been a wreck driving my car around the past 10 years and now I have more sin guilt to deal with.

Female Students Rarely Ordained
Here is a nice article about the plight of female ministers (this one specific to the Presbyterian church).
What's sad is the existing trend of seminaries and Bible colleges taking the money from female students knowing full well none of them can get into full time ministry or can ever be ordained. Take for example the Christian Missionary Alliance. They will take tuition from women for ministry programs knowing full well they will never be ordained in their denomination. What's even more perplexing is how they treat women missionaries.
In the absence of qualified men women missionaries perform FULL duties of ordained ministers, however, the instant a male arrives or they return to North American soil they are 'just a chick'. Time for change? I think slowly but surely there is change in the midst so all is not yet lost.

It's in your church right now, maybe on the staff computer. Pornography has grown rampant in an age where the internet fulfills all desires and people yearn to meet spiritual needs in an orgy of sexuality.
In a poll of 1,000 respondents, 50 percent of Christian men and 20 percent of Christian women were found to be addicted to pornography. Conducted by ChristaNet.com, a popular Christian marketplace website, the poll asked visitors about their personal sexual conduct.
Personally those numbers are quite low. They did not say the difference between married and singles, however, I'm sure the numbers fluctuate. What's sad is two things, a) the rampant expansion of the problem, and b) the unwillingness for churches (particular evangelicals or are the most 'high and mighty' of the bunch) to address the issue head on.
Ever been to a series of sermons about porn and sex addictions? Didn't think so.
What can you do in the mean time? Perhaps an internet filter? Accountability buddies?
Pomotheo.com will post online resources that we have checked and tried out so you can add it to your resource list.
- Hedgebuilders is an internet filter that operate on a 'no-list'. We've tried it, it works really well. It stops 99% questionable material. If you're a missionary or clergy then you only pay 24 bucks a year!
An no, these are not paid reviews.

Big Valley Creation Museum Opens in Canada
Since when does Alberta become Bible belt Canada? I suppose Prairie Bible College will be happy with the new creation museum set to open in Big Valley. This particular museum in Canada has been met with far less public outcry and demonstration compared to their American counterparts.
