Millions More into Texas Creation Science Teacher School

The institute for creation science, a right-wing fundamentalist Christian organization, is now applying in Texas for the approval to train science teachers. Yes folks, this is the best use of money some Christians can come up with. Too bad it's not a school for lawyers who could fight for justice matters to the oppressed, or a medical school to help with the AIDS epidemic, or a basket weaving school to train basket makers--anything other than a literal six-day creationist school to continually school impressionable kids into being antagonistic and incomprehensible 'lights' unto the world. Only in America folks....Now where's the nearest rapture high school to enroll my kids in?.....

A Simple Review: Golden Compass

Recently there has been much furor in email land amongst evangelical and even Catholic Christians over the latest kid's movie fraught with 'heresy' -- Golden Compass. From the 'Dark Materials' trilogy the Golden Compass books have been cast out of schools and have pitted 'religious' folks against 'open-minded' secular folks. I thought I'd actually read the books--which I have--and can now give a simple and honest opinion.
