Stupid Study: Christianity No Longer Looks Like Jesus
Someone actually made a study stating the obvious, ok, that's not new, but take a read at this.
Seems as though more and more non-Christians are worried Christianity no long looks like Jesus and aren't convinced Christians do a good job representing the real Jesus. WHAT? YOU NEEDED A STUDY FOR THIS?!
Only 16 percent of non-Christians aged 16 to 29 years old said they have a "good impression" of Christianity, according to a report released by The Barna Group. A decade ago, the vast majority of Americans outside the Christian faith, including young people, felt favorably toward Christianity’s role in society,
Why? 1. Right-wing Christians (not all) continue to speak in language and terms from a decade ago alienating today's youth. 2. Because PEOPLE keep screwing it up (but thats' to be expected.)
And another:
Young Christians largely criticize the church, saying it has made homosexuality a "bigger sin" than anything else and that the church has not helped them apply the biblical teaching on homosexuality to their friendships with gays and lesbians.
Maybe it has? Use this as a wake up call to all churches liberal or fundamentalist. If you haven't seen a new person in church for a year then find somewhere else, you're a waste of space. Oh yea, and try to be current with the world around you.
