Stealing Money - Seminaries and Female Students

Female Students Rarely Ordained

Here is a nice article about the plight of female ministers (this one specific to the Presbyterian church).

What's sad is the existing trend of seminaries and Bible colleges taking the money from female students knowing full well none of them can get into full time ministry or can ever be ordained. Take for example the Christian Missionary Alliance. They will take tuition from women for ministry programs knowing full well they will never be ordained in their denomination. What's even more perplexing is how they treat women missionaries.

In the absence of qualified men women missionaries perform FULL duties of ordained ministers, however, the instant a male arrives or they return to North American soil they are 'just a chick'. Time for change? I think slowly but surely there is change in the midst so all is not yet lost.

In credit to the C&MA; they have women on their district executive commitee's, the national executive commitee, and individual churches can elect women elders (my home church being one of them). It is only a matter of time before their are women ordained. After all, women are already classified as pastors in many churches, for example children and worship pastors.
