Pomotheo.com welcomes our first guest blogger Trent. He is going to engage in the atheist (and in this case Christian) dialogue about the existence of God. (At least I think that would be the starting question....)

I am an atheist. I do not believe in Apollo or Amon-Ra or Allah. I do not believe in Baal or Baldur or Bacchus. Very briefly, I am going to explain why not.

A blog war has began. By blog I mean blog, by war I mean polite but sometimes terse dialogue. A fellow blogger Trent is going to post up some thoughts regarding the new atheism position. Whether Trent considers himself a 'new atheist' as opposed to an 'old one' (whatever that might be) is unknown to me, perhaps he'll shed some light. In the mean time the blog will basically work like this: Trent will post his thoughts here at Pomotheo.com and we'll engage him here. Hopefully this will be the first of many installments of quality web dialogue on some interesting issues. Keep ya posted.

When Holy Scripture peaks of God, it does not permit us to let our attention or thoughts wander at random.... When Holy Scripture speaks of God, it concentrates our attention and thoughts upon one single point and what is to be known at that point.... If we ask further concerning the one point upon which, according to Scripture, our attention and thoughts should and must be concentrated, then frmo first to last the Bible direcfts us to the name of Jesus Christ.

Said the Pharisee to the other Pharisee. Actually it was probably more, 'oi moy'. Regardless, another book selling ploy has emerged from Steve Hughes, author of 'Oh Shit! It's Jesus'. THeOOZE has a brief article about it, but what I like is the comments going on at the bottom.
