Take a read of the article above. Atheist writers are being rewarded with big book deals for bashing Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. For many, the rise of fundamentalism in any religion is too much, they say buck religion. I really don't know what they heck they're talking about though (and I need to read their books before I bash what they say.) But are you really arguing and providing evidence that there is no god? Or are you just complaining at the seemingly stupid brand of religion that dominates mainstream media.
If it's the latter then I agree and wish I thought about writing a book about it before you did. If it's the former, which it isn't, then you aren't really an atheist, you're just a cranky agnostic.
I was cruising the Alpha Course web site and noted one thing. Man alive, they make fun look fun. The ads asking, "is there more to life than this?" are pitted against people, cool people, fun people, having big fun. I mean wow, I'm not sure if I want to go to Alpha cause the 'other' life looks REAL fun.
But then again, they make a good point, is the example above all I live for? That's the apex of my life? The classy bar and hot women/men? hmmm.

In a mock exercise of course.... Student in a New Jersey high school were put through a drill that depicted a mock hostage taking lead by two 'Christian fundamentalists'. HAha, uh boy. Best quote from the this article is this:
“If the police had portrayed the real life scenario of gay terrorists or abortion rights activists upset for any contrived reason you would read about it in every major paper across the United States; and rightfully so because it would be ridiculously stupid,” commented Terry Trippany, editor at Webloggin, on a personal blog.
Those in the NJ county need to vote with their feet and elect new school trustees, councilmen, etc., if nothing is done about this stupidity.
Apparently there is the new fad in Islam for Ethiopians, grab anybody who isn't Muslim and beat them to death in your holy place. This is of course an extreme version of fanatical Islam but you'll never once here any other Muslim body anywhere in the world decry what occurs in militant African nations.
I am a bit surprised it occurred in Ethiopia since it has the biggest army in Northern Africa and has many Christian leaders and groups.
